Terms and Conditions Eligibility

. To qualify, the project should be within the definition of small to medium enterprises, that is:

. Should not employ more than 75 people

. Should have a fixed asset base of not more than Z$100 million.

The project should be socially and legally desirable.

Viability

Emphasis is on management to direct the business profitably hence management

experience in the field of endeavor.

The business should be able to earn enough not only to pay back the loan but to

Sustain its own activities and reward the owner.

Contribution

The owner should be able to commit into the business at least 15% of the total

project cost (equity contribution).

Collateral

The loan should be secured.

Maximum Loan

Maximum loan $30 million.

Grace Period

3 months for a short-term loan

6 months for a medium term loan

12 months for a long-term loan, when available.

Order Financing

When a small business receives an order to supply goods to a big corporation, the small business owner would go and borrow money from SEDCO so as to deliver the goods. When the goods have been delivered to the big corporation payment is made directly to SEDCO so as to recover its money and the markup will be available to the supplier of the goods i.e. the small business supplier.

Loan

This is a micro-finance window of SEDCO lending from within the communities in sub­urban areas or growth points.
